As a mixed-race, neurodiverse counsellor, I am passionate about diversity and inclusion, and the intersection of neurodiveristy and trauma. I have a unique understanding of neurodiveristy, cultural and ethnic diversity, inclusion, and mental health.
My passion is working with individuals who have experienced discrimination and racism, and working with youth and adults with neurodiversity. It can be difficult to build good mental health in a world that does not like accomodation, but I am up for the challenge. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with the unique needs of parents and families raising neurodiverse children, children with disabilities, or children who for other reasons follow a unique developmental path.
I specialize in:
- Complex Trauma and PTSD
- Neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorders, OCD, Tourette's)
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
- Parenting children with neurodiversity, developmental differences, and disabilities
- LGBTQIA2S
- Grief and loss
- Anxiety Disorders
- Mood Disorders
Meet Jessica Fukushima
A compassionate Registered Clinical Counsellor and Art Therapist
Hi, my name is Jessica Fukushima. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, a Registered Canadian Art Therapist, and and EMDRIA trained EMDR Therapist. I am honoured to be part of your healing journey. Counselling is a deeply personal service, and I do not beleive in a "one-size fits all" approach. My passion is creating unique and individualized services for my clients, and helping you find what works best for you. I enjoy blending art and expressive therapy with strong clinical mental health skills. I beleive that safety must always come first, and all my methods are trauma-informed.
